Oct. 24th, 2003 06:08 pmI am feeling somewhat better, on account of having gotten the academics off my back with seven straight hours of typing and on account of having actually gotten some sleep so that my fever has gone down and I can nearly breathe through my nose again. I am still wiped and am going to bed in less than an hour but all in all a massive improvement over yesterday at this time.
Also the liquor store in town has made my list of Really Good Stores in the area-- the people were friendly and helpful and interesting and funny and unobtrusive, which is an impressive combination, especially the last. And they have a good range of prices and sell everything one could want, including plum wine, which had been my desire, and Godiva liqueur, which was a nice addition. Also they sold us something called Vampire Merlot which is just funny. It has two little holes poked in the lid, and the label says 'the blood of the vine'. Who cares if the wine's any good?
And tomorrow High Table is taking a trip to Longwood Gardens, where I have not been despite having lived in Philly for lo these nearly five years, and so I look forward to that, especially as they are having an exhibition of Buddhist sand-painting.
And so to sleep.
