By popular demand, yet. Every so often, the conversation around here swings in a direction in which I mention that I used to be in Silverthorn, and the sort of thing that group did, and I go kind of nostalgic, and then I mention that I have no idea who got the name for that group or what really happened to it anyhow. And then people tell me, man, that would be a great idea to have around.

I still have no idea who got the name, so I'm not using it, and unless somebody on LJ can tell me what happened with that so I can ask, I'm going to continue not to use it.

Also, I have realized ever since the idea was mentioned that it is a really, really, really dumb idea to start a club one's senior year when one is a double major.

The first meeting is this evening. And I've gotten emails from people I don't even know and have never heard of who are going to turn up, proving that this campus contains more nicely twisted people than I thought.

If I were really, really evil, I'd pass it down as a May Day gift with the insistence that my successor try to budget with SGA.

I may do that. Mwahahahaha. Especially since the name at the moment is not terribly euphemistic. I am presently running the Bryn Mawr S&M Society.

Because there was a serious deficit of bad porn being shown around here.

I wonder how that sort of club presidency would look on a resume?

Oh, good. I knew people in that my freshman year. Met them randomly at the Cloisters party.

Do you know what happened to the inflatable man? (a random aside, but that was my evil May Day gift. I still blame Butt Girl for that one.)

I think the inflatable man was given to someone on my hall freshman year as a Mayday gift.

The velco-able, detachable parts of the inflatable man were apparently a separate Mayday gift. I haven't heard anything about them.

You want rivetcat, love. She was the last president, as far as I know. Good luck... and I will want many details.

Love.

I died laughing when I got that email.

I should have known you'd start an S&M club. Maybe when I visit, I'll drop in on a meeting for the hell of it. But not with my boyfriend. I think he'd freak. :>

Good luck with it, I think it's a good idea and fosters more openness on a campus that's trying but not quite succeeding in being openminded.

So . . . how open are the meetings? Or will you be figuring that out tonight? In any event, have fun ;-)

One of Nightengale's roommates was in that. Briefly, at least. I just remember heading over to her apartment and seeing this huge informational packet sitting on the dining room table.
*NOT* the sort of informational packet I would have expected to see on Nightengale's dining room table.
I read it. It was fascinating. Good luck restarting it- and it _was_ funded by SGA back in the day. I remember because I saw their name on the funding list the year they refused to pay for Elsinore. I found this ironic.

Wayman, I'll have to get back to you on that one, but it'll almost certainly be fine if you want to turn up (though meeting times have not been settled yet). Mostly it'll be a social/discussion group wherein we watch porn.

Please let me know if you have trouble with signage, I remember going around with folks my Freshman year to see if the signs on the noticeboards had been ripped down, 90% of them had been, mostly crumpled and tossed in the garbage within an hour or so of being posted.

I'm interested to know if things are a bit less juvenile. Good luck with it, I wish you the best. :)
