just had a very long and intensely complex fever dream centering around the fact that Leonard Cohen was secretly an Ent

There is a metaphorical level at which that feels surprisingly right, to me.

I actually had a nice dream last night, but was woken in the middle of it by the children upstairs deciding that stamping up and down noisily is their new favourite game.

There's a crack ... in everything. .... Hrum, hro, hrum! That's how the light gets in... Hrum! Hoo!

(Yeah, I'm still tickled by this idea.)

I think your subconscious has noticed an interesting truth about the man.

Leonard Cohen was secretly an Ent

That does explain the voice . . .

(And if this dream was from an actual fever, I hope it's broken.)

Err- you didn't know? Possibly this is information available only to Canadians.

No, it had never occurred to me, but as people have said, it makes sense.

Well, he's old and wise and has a deep voice and deep lines in his face, and sings long slow songs. I think it works!

That's lovely.

Fever? I hope it's broken. Drink lots of cooling things and think of leafy shade.

It seems to me that thinking of leafy shade is what got her into trouble in the first place. Something more along the lines of rocky, or dare I say cavey, might be better.

Oh man he'd make a fine Ent! Boo for fever dreams, but at least it was an interesting one...

Feel better soon!

Well, I suppose Leonard Cohen's music could be described as 'slow, sonorous, agglomerated, repetitive, indeed long-winded; formed of a multiplicity of vowel-shades and distinctions of tone and quantity'.
