Next Year's Convention List
Nov. 13th, 2005 06:21 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
In chronological order, here are the conventions I expect to turn up at in 2006-- it's a change from last year's set. If you're going to be at any of these, let me know and I'll look for you. In addition, I am not at the moment intending to go either Boskone or Arisia, but if anyone has a good reason why I should change my mind and attempt to make either or both of them, please let me know.
The list:
Vericon VI, January 27th-29th, Harvard University, GoHs George R.R. Martin,
nineweaving, Sharyn November and that guy who draws Something Positive, among others. This con is four blocks away from us and looks even larger and more professional this year than it was last year. Housemates: are we running any programming this time 'round?
Wiscon 30, May 26th-29th, Madison, Wisconsin. This one is still tentative-- have not yet registered, bought plane tickets, etc.. It's not too late, is it? I wasn't sure I'd be able to until recently. Also, I am SEEKING A ROOMMATE or several. This will be the first con I've ever traveled to and stayed at a hotel for without staying with friends in the area, which is probably some kind of milestone. But after going to the Tiptrees, I knew I had to make this one a priority.
Anthrocon 2006, June 15-18th, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ursula Vernon! (If you don't know the glory of Ursula Vernon, poke around here.) Also, a furry con should be a really interesting experience.
Otakon 2006, August 4-6th, Baltimore, Maryland. Yeesh, I think this will be my fifth Otakon.
The maybes: Boskone, Arisia, Readercon (I may well go to Readercon because it's, y'know, right there, but that would make one con every month in the summer which is a tad much, and I figure the bookspoils at Wiscon will be just as good, so probably not).
Stuff I went to last year and am not this year: Anime Boston (same weekend as Wiscon), Katsucon (oh gods the disorganization of it all), Gaylaxicon (disorganization ditto ditto plus is in a different city this year plus no Bujold).
So. Who'll I see where? And does anyone want to room with me at Wiscon?
