in other news Fox has pinkeye and so does Ruth and all three of us have the flu and in Ruth this has also turned into a double ear infection, my only goal in life is now avoiding pinkeye, the cat had to go to the vet today to see if he is going to drop dead suddenly of kidney failure (we... don't think so? bloodwork pending, maybe just a UTI), I hope we have not given the vet pinkeye, Ursula Le Guin is still dead, and everything is terrible

Pink eye is apparently going around; Kit had it and gave it to J and J gave it to me, and also my boss got it from his kid and the tech at the eye doctor's office had it several weeks ago. It is gross and not fun, but if you do get it, it's not horrible doom. Lysol wipes are your friends (or alcohol wipes—I found a place to get alcohol wipes the size of Lysol wipes and they were extremely useful). Good luck!
