the perversity of the inanimate
May. 3rd, 2006 10:56 pmOr, rather, a conjunction of inanimate and perversity: I have located a site which will sell me a cross-stitch pattern of Aubrey Beardsley's picture of Salome with the head of John the Baptist.*
I don't think I'm going to be able to stop myself.
I am now fighting the nearly unbearable urge to make his illustrations from the Lysistrata into a set of sofa cushions.
*They'll give me Arcimboldo too, which is just as exciting, but the Beardsley is monochrome and will consequently take less time and money at the beginning. But you'd better believe I'm going to do 'The Librarian' eventually.
