Sep. 12th, 2003 12:26 amOK, so it's only the second week of the semester and I am already Making Tea With Intent. (And thanks to rabidfangirl for my lovely new teacups and to Eredien for letting me use her teapot that heats the water when you plug it in.) I swear, it's the natural reaction of the Mawrtyr under stress. Some schools drink. Some schools break stuff. Some schools have a football team. We Make Tea. In a calming sort of ritual with elements of the British and Japanese. I never really drank tea until I came here. A universe in which there is a nicely brewing cup of Vanilla Almond Earl Gray on the side table is a universe in which one can generally put off having a nervous breakdown for a little while, which is the entire point, really.
See, I got the email from the reporter as a break from doing Greek, and I had to finish the Greek whilst still freaking. Then the anime I was watching afterwards so I could calm down and enjoy something silly turned into a *significant* mindfuck, and I would have absolutely no problem with any of this including the reporter and would be going about my business merrily if it weren't precisely the wrong phase of the moon so that 'stability' and 'sanity' and 'not bursting into tears at the drop of a goddamn hat' are concepts that will begin to apply again in about a week, along with the concept of standing upright, even though I went to Naginata because I wasn't going to miss the first class and I need my exercise and I really enjoyed it and it probably wasn't such a good idea to do all that moving about given present physical conditions.
So I have Made Tea. It smells very good.
It tastes vaguely like almonds.
Somehow, a good cuppa really does set the universe right.
Well, mostly.
