Reasons Today Suck(s)/(ed)

rushthatspeaks1. Ruth left yesterday. This is an unhappy thing. It is always an unhappy thing when she leaves, so it is a repeated unhappy thing, but that does not make it any less unhappy.
2. Over an inch of snow and still going. The things I could say about this begin at unprintable.
3. We are eleventh in priority number for four-person hall groups. *Eleventh*. I don't think there *are* that many four-person hall groups, and I don't know what gives; we've got two rising seniors, for crying out loud. Bye-bye, dream of living on Rock Lost Corridor, it was nice while it lasted. Plus, Hall Group Draw is tonight at 9:30 in the PSB; see above comment on weather, add living off-campus... bad. NO desire to be on campus this late, especially since if we don't get a hall group we just get thrown into regular draw, which means all the work will have been for nothing. However, I have to go, in case, somehow, we get lucky and about five groups don't turn up and/or don't want the rooms we want... and I'm Queen Marie of Rumania.
4. Professor Miller-Collett is going to Greece after all despite the war, so my forty-five minute presentation is due next week instead of in two weeks.
5. Noticed this morning that the stone was loose in my engagement ring, something which has happened before and is a hazard of the setting. Usually I take the ring off, hang it on whatever necklace chain I'm wearing since I always have either chalice or pentacle, and run it into town to get the stone tightened again (whenever I have time, probably a month to six weeks later). Today I took off my pentacle to put the ring on the chain, and the chain snapped. So now I can't wear that anymore, plus I have to keep wearing the ring and checking every few hours to make sure the stone doesn't fall out, since I haven't got anywhere else to put the ring where I know it will not be lost in however long the amount of time turns out to be until I can get the setting tightened. And I need a new necklace chain. This is aggravating, because this makes the third piece of Good Jewelry in two years that has simply refused to stay on my body.
6. I am about to go work a shift at my job in an effort to relax. Something is wrong with this picture.
