Thesis presentation: T-minus 2 hours 12 minutes and counting. There is a rumor that Nancy J., our darling college president, is actually coming to the presentations this year because she wants to show support for the various departments. Please, no. On the one hand, I am the first of all the Cities seniors to present, so I can hopefully make a really good impression on the assembled faculty, but on the other hand, I am the first of all the Cities seniors to present, so I will have no idea what sort of things everyone else is going to be doing and if I can measure up to their standard. Argh.

Date: 2003-12-02 09:18 am (UTC)At Swarthmore, thesis presentations varied by department but were frequently public. If presentations are open to the community, and you'd feel comfortable having friends in the audience, let us know where these are happening. Responding "please stay home" is also totally understandable; I know people's feelings on whether it's good to have friends at such events vary widely.
But you write GOOD poetry. Or at least, I like it.

For when you get up in front of a bunch of people to lecture, you sound splendidly authoritative. Or at least, that's what happened the last two times I saw it. So I feel that it will be COOL.
