... so I'm going to rotate a few. I've got a couple of really good pics of Chi from CHOBITS, and the rest will appear as they appear. I'm fond of this pic of Gojyou, even though I have a sneaking suspicion it's fanart. Heck, the person I took my LJ name was male, so why shouldn't the picture be? Personal-gender-wise-- well, if you picture an equilateral triangle, at one corner of which is 'male', at one corner of which is 'female' and at one corner of which is 'other' (not 'both', not 'no gender', but 'other'), then I go on the side between 'female' and 'other', slightly closer to 'female'. Mentally, I mean. Gender is a state of mind.

We did go see Dar Williams last night, at a free concert at the World Financial Center. It was a great deal of fun. I had been worried about finding the place, so I got there so early that we actually got really good seats. (We being me, Ruth, and R. from Jersey, who told us about it-- and many thanks!) The plaza is right up against the Hudson River, so there was a really nice sea-breeze and we didn't boil. Dar Williams looked about twelve on stage; she had a sort of ponytail and a pink twenties-ish dress, and she stands on one foot while she sings. She did pretty much everything I like that doesn't need a band, and it was a nice mix between stuff from 'The Green World' and stuff from her earlier albums. Yes, she did 'Iowa', and the whole audience sang along; she also did a really good stab at 'As Cool As I Am' despite it needing a band to take off. She did 'When I Was A Boy' as an encore, due to audience demand. The piece I was most delighted by was one off 'The Green World' I hadn't heard before, called 'Any Mystery', which Ruth calls the anti-Goth song. Anti-angst would be more like it; it's a song about the sheer pretentiousness of wandering around in a black trenchcoat in the rain crying and holding a bunch of dead flowers, and it would make a great anime music video.

Angst-O-Meter: .5 . Only that produced by my seemingly eternal sinus headache.
