for those of you who care about fanfic

I've gone through and done some maintenance on my AO3 account,
Rush_That_Speaks, including moving over the fic I am still happiest with from previous Yuletides and from earlier in this journal-- most notably the Much Ado About Nothing fic and the Shoujo Kakumei Utena/Chronicles of Narnia crossover. There is also a new Homestuck fic, about which much of what I have to say is read the warning tags because I mean them (
handful_ofdust, this might be up your alley). And I have more Homestuck fic in progress, because that is how my life apparently works these days.

Date: 2013-01-14 09:13 pm (UTC)I seriously never intended to pressure you into "upload now omg!" It was just that after this latest bout of Yuletide, I'd been wishing that more of the older fics I'd gotten had wafted over to aO3 as well, so your post seemed timely. Thanks v.v. much. :)

Date: 2013-01-11 01:08 pm (UTC)I appreciate that! LJ has been getting so squirrelly that I wish all the fanfic authors I know would move stuff there. I'm starting to save my favorite Saiyuki fanfics by others locally (on this Mac or to my phone).

Date: 2013-01-11 02:03 pm (UTC)Because I've been wondering for a while, however: How does AO3 "work", exactly? Do you have to apply, or get invited? How's the posting interface? The woman who maintains "my" site doesn't really update anymore, so all my 3:10 to Yuma stuff (for example) is currently only on Livejournal/my Dreanwidth mirror, which seems like a bad idea.

Date: 2013-01-12 09:48 pm (UTC)That said, once you actually have the page I quite like the posting interface-- pretty intuitive and has a lot of options for customization if you need it. Also nice automatic stat counters and decent social bookmarking. I suggest tagging everything with 'Choose Not To Use Archive Warnings', though, because people can get really wanky about it if they think something should have been warned for and wasn't in a way I haven't seen them operate on other sites.
You would like Homestuck, I think. It is a webcomic... ish thing, using animation and music and webcomic panels and after getting past the beginning bits it is an awesomely and perversely worldbuilt juggernaut of an epic.
