I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that her stories were also not published - not for being anti-Soviet, but just for that bleakness (that is not right word to describe what I mean. But while in the stories of this book things can turn at least ome way - the dead come back to settle matters, the paranoia lifts ... - in the early stories there is no relief at all. Yet some of them I liked very much).
