trying to make a plan
Jan. 19th, 2009 03:23 pmApparently my house no longer has TV service-- I might have been vaguely upset about not having been told about that except that given how often I try to watch TV this could literally have happened years ago without my noticing.
Everyone else who lives here either has a job that will be devoting space to televising the presidential inauguration tomorrow, or wasn't going to watch it anyway.
As I have not watched any live news on the internet in, oh, ever, I have no idea what sites will be reliably streaming coverage, or how to find that out. I poked at CNN, but it didn't say anywhere I could find.
I could go to the bar down the street, but I'm not actually sure they open early enough.
Advice? Reliable websites or locations of public TV showings would make me very, very happy.

Date: 2009-01-19 08:38 pm (UTC)Watching it through bbc.co.uk would amuse me, and maybe you too. (I'll probably be giving a presentation to a bunch of Scots at the time, which also amuses me.)

Date: 2009-01-19 08:49 pm (UTC)When I started to type "inauguration" into the google search bar on firefox, it suggested inauguration 2009, and those were at the second or third hit. There are several sites created for the inauguration. (I don't think my job is going to be devoting space to the broadcast, because thinking about the office layout, I don't think they can, without risking crowding more people into a room than would be safe, and most of them not being able to see. That assumes the presence of a television, which is possible but I haven't seen.)

Also, Starbase has a TV. I assume it gets reception, though I have never tested this personally. I'm not planning to watch the inauguration myself, but if you want to come over here, I'll make you tea or hot cocoa . . .
