My lovely housemate and partner in crime
eredien has had a short story accepted by Sean Wallace for Jabberwocky #2. It is her first fiction publication. (SO many congrats!)
My short story "Une Conte de Fee" (um there are meant to be accent marks in there really) has been accepted by Cabinet des Fees, which makes my second short story acceptance. (There may be a title change forthcoming on this story, as, if you notice any similarity between story title and journal title, you're right-- though I wrote the story a while ago, so it is in fact purely coincidental, and was one of the things that caused me to think the journal would be a good market.) ETA: No title change. They like the way the titles go together. ^_^
And my previously published short story, "The Crying Queen", from Not One of Us #34, has been nominated for a British Science Fiction Association Award. (Congrats to
matociquala, who also has a short story on the nominee list!)
All of this news came over the transom within about six hours.
And before I heard about most of it, I'd put in a good day's work on the New Thing, 'Altarwise by Owl-light', which is the first thing I've managed to start since the draft of 'Rabbits' wound up on a computer what is broken.
*is so happy that her hands are literally shaking*
I love my job, I love my job, I love my job. O gods, do I love my job.
