Still sorting aeons of paperwork. This will probably go on until further notice, unless I manage to pull myself together and finish the last Big Household Project, which involved categorizing our books so they are findable. That one got to about 80% done and then I started whimpering whenever I thought about it. I figure this has a better chance of closure because I already start whimpering whenever I think about it and so said reaction cannot take me by surprise.

I hate the fact that one can go through a box of paper and throw out massive, massive quantities of stuff, huge ginormous piles, and then put the stuff to be kept back in the box and the box is still full. This is the kind of circumstance that causes me to swear that I am actually going to throw out all the other itty bitty folded papers without looking at them just as soon as I'm done looking at whatever this stupid thing in my hand turns out to be ah my grandfather's death certificate so it seems the tossing stuff plan is right out then kthnxbye.

Gah.

On the other hand, I finally managed to pull a copy of The Game of Kings out of the depths of our library system, possibly by way of karmic compensation for my favorite branch closing for indefinite renovations, and they also had a random book by Laura Kinsale, an author I've been meaning to try for some while now. So I'll be starting up Dunnett presently and other prospects are also interesting.

And I sent a book review off to IROSF and we'll see what they say about it.

You...just used kthnxbye.

Please take a break? For the general wellbeing of all as well as the gravitational constant of the universe?

Little did you know that it is one of my life's goals to use each extant piece of Internet slang exactly once, in a correct grammatical and emotional context, so that it seems natural and right and barely anybody notices. I have already gotten through LOL and OMG without comment; sadly, you twigged to kthnxbye, so I'll have to try to sneak it in again somewhere mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha. ph43r my l33t skillz, yo.

Eek. Eek, I say.

(I've never even heard of "kthnxbye." I feel so obsolete.)

May I ask what you reviewed?

The new mass-market edition of Angelica Gorodischer's Kalpa Imperial (identical to the old edition, but with a worse cover and the ability to make my review timely instead of two years out-of-date).

And by the way, did you realize you'd misspelled it in a way that made it more literate? 'Tis usually "kthxbai"

Don't worry. There are some depths to which even I will not sink.

If you've never read Dunnett, you have a treat in store. A strenuous treat, to be sure (I've never met anyone who recognizes more than a quarter of the quotations) but oh so much fun.
