And yeah, there's so much Rico whump, and to me it feels both narratively justified and as if the narrative has gone to such great lengths to justify it. It feels like the writer had situations he wanted to have happen, and reasoned backward from those to come up with things that would make those situations happen. He's very good at it, but you can tell it originated in a fetishy place. Which is in fact really creepy and disturbing.
