It's really odd to watch my allergy medication fight with my cold. I'm very ill, but there's this definite barrier against my being as sick as I would be if I weren't taking prescription-level decongestants regularly. I'm stuffed up, but it feels worse than it is. And I have this odd irregularly spiking fever-- one minute very bad, the next normal, the next mild, then I'm actually chilled. My metabolism is going off the deep end. Thing is, my meds are *not* antibiotics, so they don't actually keep me from getting sicker. But they're so powerful that much of the time they mask the symptoms, or only allow bits of them through. Except when they don't work at all.

There is debate going on as to whether we should actually go to Boston given that on syona keleste this turned into pneumonia. At the moment my vote is still yes. I very much want to see people and we'd been intending to look at the apartment across the hall. However, I should warn you Bostonians: I am ill. I will be good for visiting, but I should try not to be outside much. And if we go anywhere, we should T, not walk.

The only other thing that's gone on is that I finally got a chance to see Millennium Actress, which is just as brilliant as everyone had assured me it was, and is now on the list of DVDs I need to pick up at some point. Those of you who may have seen it in the theatre do need to see the DVD, because it comes with simply the best making-of featurette I could possibly conceive of. I mean, those things aren't supposed to make you cry. As for the movie... beautiful. As Satoshi Kon yet again redefines the capabilities of animation. It is so hard to believe this man has made only two movies (mind you, the other one was Perfect Blue). He has the touch of a master who's been perfecting his art for decades. I think this one is going to go down as one of the great classics and I'm really looking forward to whatever his next project will be.
