Jan. 20th, 2003 02:08 pmI am back at the Mawr. This is happy. My class schedule seems to be shaking down just fine. I am in four classes with Kitten. This is ridiculous. My fifth is calculus, which I also know people in. In fact, there isn't a thing I'm taking this semester that I don't know at least three people in. I wouldn't have thought the overlap would be as impressive as it is...
Oh, and I have started serious work on my Yaone costume. I have all the fabric and Ada was nice enough to give me some help by making me patterns and helping me cut fabric. Rianna is going to let me use her sewing machine which will speed matters up immensely. Sometime this week I need to go over to the hardware store to try to buy some chains and the two plain metal finger rings I need for the gloves. I'm doing the gloves first because they feel so much less intimidating-- I mean, I can do the lining and the major seam on the machine, and the elastic and finger rings and Velcro are all hand-sewing which will be touchy but not evil. I've never made clothes before so I'm sort of gearing up to the jacket, and especially the leotard, which is really going to be the difficult bit.
I'm also hoping to get somewhere with some of my music video ideas this semester, as I've finally got both a series I want to make a video for on DVD and the song I want on mp3 and the library has video editing equipment. So I get to see if I'm any good at that. It should be interesting.
And there's my novel. I've given up leisure reading. I spent a lot of time last semester reading for pleasure in the before-bed time, the waiting-for-buses time, the ten-minutes-to-class time. Stopping that, and carrying the novel everywhere. This should help.
I'm hoping it will be a productive semester because it does seem like there's an awful lot I want to get done now that I look at it. I mean, five classes, one job, one pretty major costuming piece, one video, at least a first draft on the book, two musical groups...
On my mark...
