I was having a conversation with Rush and nineweaving and gaudior the other day about gender expression and identity, and this comment including your wonderful phrase "grab them gently by the throat" came up. I am personally of the opinion that this seizing is especially delicious if, for example, one's nails are delicately manicured, which is to say that my gender does cross my mind quite often for non-argument-related reasons, but I agree with you very much. Probably the ideally effective version is if they could be grabbed and shaken by as wide a variety of nevertheless female hands as possible.
