The purpose of the book is to show the cat in the BNF. As for the opinion that there are no good paintings of cats, it is not mine but Pierre Rosenberg's. M. Rosenberg, who wrote the introduction, is the former director of the Louvre Museum and the author of a very good book, "Le Chat et la palette" published 20 years ago. best wishes, Michèle Sacquin
