Yes! I have this translation, too - or, at least, it's an 'Indiana Masterpiece Edition' (?), which has Musa's translation but which is also thankfully dual text, so I can scrape something together with my lousy Italian. But, yes, the translation is a bit dreary. Not bad, but bad enough that it's pretty annoying on a regular basis when read right next to the Petrarch. It takes all the immediacy right out and makes everything seem slightly foxed and very polite.
