holiday awayness

Ruth and I are headed off to Europe tomorrow (Italy, France, intervening places) to visit Thrud, and will be back January the 7th.

This means that, while it is possible that I will have internet access at some points of the trip, it is not likely that I will be on LJ much if at all, and will be checking email infrequently. Email is probably the best bet if you want to get hold of me, since I do hope to be reading it at least once, but unless it absolutely demands a reply for logistical/urgency reasons you are even less likely than usual to get one.

I will be keeping a trip diary, and hopefully putting it up here later.

I hope you all have/had good light-returning holidays (or, I suppose, 'oh drat I'll miss that darkness' holidays), with the company of your choice in the place of your choice and with whatever food you like best.

I am going to try to do something by way of holiday giftage or cards or something this year, but almost certainly not until late January, when they can be early Groundhog Day presents.

If you are one of the people who has been asking me about what I'd like for Chanukwansolstimas, my Bookmooch wishlist is here, with the caveats that I tend to want things that are utterly impossible to find and/or expensive, and that if you want to list something through the site you should probably wait until I am back so that I can actually be certain of getting it. Or you could take something off my giveaway list. Please.

Or you could recommend a PS2 game that I'll like half as much as I loved Okami, which is now officially the Only Video Game I Have Ever Finished.
