I'd like to specifically rep two organizations I the Boston area. They are both long standing and wicked organized and have the ability to absorb however many hours of volunteer time you have to give:

https://www.arcscluster.org/ -- a spinout from the interfaith org Refugee Immigration Ministry, ArCS has their shit together and is full of people who are not just doing good work for refugees but also actively challenging their privilege and world view. Mostly focusing on housing, transportation, finaid, and other support for refugee and asylee families who land in Arlington, Cambridge and Somerville. This group is how we met our foster son.

https://beyondbondboston.org/ bonding people out of immigration detention, accompanying people to immigration court, providing rides to ICE checkins, ESL classes, doctors appointments etc. The court accompaniment is super important -- it demonstrates to the immigration judges that the people are not invisible or forgotten and that their is active community support for them. This has a real effect on judgments
